We asked each of our teachers a few questions to get to know them better!
Meet Mariana Thomas!
When did yoga first become a part of your life?
The year of 2000
When did you begin teaching? What made you decide to progress from student to teacher?
I became certified in 2002 and being teaching right away. Since my teens days I was involved in sports and fitness. Played basketball and volleyball in high school and some part in college and I have always been a gym rat. A friend who was a personal trainer invited me to a Yoga class at local Gym in NC. I was hooked from the moment I took my first Yoga class. I kept going for more and more and my first teacher was fantastic. The way it made my body, mind and soul feel was amazing so I decided to get certified so I could share with others.
What is your personal practice and practice that you teach?
My personal practice depends of how my body feels each day. I may go slow, or pick up the pace with my favorite which is Vinyasa flow or an intermediate practice. Regardless, I practice everyday.
If you could be any animal in the world, what would it be and why?
A bird! They are free and fly everywhere, they sing even when it is raining outside. They seem happy and careless always.
What is your favorite quote?
It is not what you do, it is how you do what you do.
When to practice with you at the owl?
Mondays 10:30-11:30AM Intermediate Yoga Flow
