We asked each of our teachers a few questions to get to know them better.
Meet Cass Lievsay!
When did yoga first become a part of your life?
In 2000. I began by taking Iynegar yoga classes 3 to 4 times a week and I became hooked!
When did you begin teaching?
I began teaching in 2005.
What made you decide to progress from student to teacher?
I didn’t have a desire to teach at all and certainly lacked any kind of confidence in taking on such an endeavor. I was strongly convinced by a woman I worked with at a local gym to become an instructor for that facility. After A LOT of personal exploration I decided to give it a go. And here we are today. For YTT, specifically, I wanted to get out of the work situation I was in at the gym where I was employed and YTT was something I had entertained for years. Being in a toxic work situation gave me the push to actually commit to the training. What a blessing!
What is your personal practice?
I prefer a Vinyasa Flow class and get on the mat at least three times a week.
If you could be any animal in the world, what would it be and why?
A very loved rescued family dog. I would love to be the pet that made every person in the family feel like a Rock Star every time they walked through the door. To be able to love unconditionally, every day, to all living things, would be so beautiful, wouldn’t it?
What is your favorite quote?
I have many favorite quotes but this one popped right into my head: Believe in the possibility of the impossible.
