Teacher Tuesday: Meet Dena!

Meet Dena Totaro!

Dena is a catalyst for transformation. She has an abundant passion for the mind,

body and spirit connection and is devoted to a holistic healing approach. This

approach stems from healing her own body and transformation over 10 years ago.

Using nutritious food as medicine, and incorporating breath-work, yoga, meditation

and energy healing into her life, she healed her body of Lyme Disease, autoimmune

disorders, staph infection and emotional trauma without the use of conventional

medicine. Dena discovered energy healing as a means of relieving

stress and balancing energy, as she worked through her own past traumas and

physical pain.  She has a BA in Psychology, is a certified Energy Healer, Reiki Master,

Crystal Healer, Intuitive Soul Coach and Yoga-Meditation instructor. During healing

sessions, Dena is guided by her intuition, while using various modalities in order to

get to the root cause of physical and emotional dis-ease. She combines her intuitive

gifts with breath work, visualization, essential oils and crystals to release blocks,

balance out energy centers, and offers life tools and positive habits for clients to

continue on a path to achieve their life purpose.  Dena also teaches yoga and

meditation, holds healing circles, and hosts crystal and healthy eating workshops

around town. Her goal is to bring more awareness to the public concerning the

benefits of energy healing and holistic care.

We asked each of our teachers a few questions to get to know them better...

What/who inspires you?

I have met many great people who have inspired me during my lifetime but my greatest teachers have been my kids. They both have very unique personalities, and have forced me to look at life through their lens, expand myself out of my comfort zone, work through past traumas, love unconditionally and give selflessly.

What is your favorite and least favorite posture and why?

My favorite posture has always been anything heart opener, especially wheel. I love the energetic and physical feeling of the expansion of the heart space when I have worked up to wheel and how intoxicating it feels afterwards as I come out of the pose and find my way either laying on my mat or seated. My least favorite posture is shoulder stands – I don’t like the way it feels on my neck.

What book has influenced your life the most?

Eckhart Tolle – A New Earth

If you could visit anywhere in the world you’ve never been, where would you go?

New Zealand – so many breathtaking views and mountains to explore!

What superpower do you wish you possessed?

The ability to instantly connect people to their heart.
