“Your vision will become clear only when you can look into your own heart. Who looks outside, dreams; who looks inside, awakes.”

– Carl Jung

Is 2020 YOUR year?... For self-exploration, consciousness expansion, personal growth, and deepening your knowledge of the transformative power of yoga?

We would love to have you join our Grey Owl 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training (YTT) experience this Fall and embark on a journey with us to awaken and nurture your mind, body and spirit.

We kickoff our journey with an offsite weekend immersion at the beautiful and peaceful Elohee Retreat center in the mountains of northeast Georgia. Following this immersion weekend, we’ll meet at our Grey Owl Mind-Body Studio in Johns Creek for seven weekend sessions over the course of four months.

During this program you’ll learn about:

  • Yoga historical context, philosophy and principles as well as teachings from major texts such as the Yoga Sutras;

  • Our YTT Foundational Flow - an alignment based, intelligently sequenced, safe, sustainable and well-rounded hatha yoga flow;

  • In-depth asana (poses) analysis, pranayama (breathwork) and meditation techniques;

  • Physiology, anatomy and biomechanics of yoga;

  • How to teach effectively, safely and in an authentic manner that engages and transforms students including employing appropriate verbal, visual and hands-on assisting;

  • Adjusting the YTT Foundational Flow to meet the specific needs of students;

  • How to create a variety of class styles: such as vinyasa flow, slow flow, gentle, power flow, etc.;

  • Designing sequences and theming to strengthen the mind-body connection and incorporate yogic philosophy;

  • Tools for enabling a positive class experience for your future students;

  • Yin Yoga format principles;

  • Harmonizing the subtle body through the chakra system.

Characteristics of our Grey Owl YTT Program

  • Diverse and Introspective: Our approach to learning will be fun, interactive and experiential. We are pleased to have a diverse set of teachers as part of our YTT faculty excited to share their expertise and knowledge. In addition to classroom time, you are encouraged to attend 3 classes a week at the studio (included in your tuition) to practice and gain exposure to a variety of teaching styles and formats. We encourage you to think, feel and develop a personal understanding of yoga as we review, discuss and apply the teachings of the program.

  • Community Support: You will meet and bond with fellow classmates throughout this journey and create lasting connections with people that will continue to support and reinforce your personal growth.

  • Transformation On and Off the Mat: Infuse yogic philosophy and mindfulness practices into your everyday life for a more purpose-filled and present experience with yourself and others. You'll be encouraged to use the tools of your Yoga Teacher Training to understand yourself on a deeper level and become the best version of YOU.

  • Safety and Healthy Living in All Stages of Life: We have a strong focus on anatomy and biomechanics to ensure safe and sustainable movement that supports your body through your life and the life of your future students.

  • Small Class Size: We limit our total class size to 12 so that each participant receives adequate attention and enables effective learning, collaboration and development.

  • A Connection to Nature: We believe in the therapeutic benefits of nature and we will spend time outdoors together and encourage you to practice asana, pranayama and meditation outside on your own

Grey Owl is proud to be a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance®.
